Please allow me to introduce myself. I am a Haggis...a Scottish Haggis from the small hamlet of Pickletillum in the Kingdom of Fife.

Contained with the different Haggis communites around world (yes we are now well travelled globally, but are not known as Haggis everwhere. In England we are known as Wombles and are found mainly in the capital on Wimbledon Common. In other parts of the world we are called Yetti or Big Foot or some other name for a 'mythical' creature - though of course it is only in Scotland that we are caught and eaten) we have Haggi...of which I am one. A Haggi is a life coach teacher. We take our faith, which has been passed down, and seek to find ways to enable its outworking and relevance to the time and situation we are in now.

To be honest, I'm not too sure why I have started this forum, but it is under the encouragement of other missionNOW community members. I first came into contact with these friends late last year when one was staying in the same caravan as I (you can read more about this his Update Blog). From those discussions over Earl Grey Tea, a great and hopefully, lasting friendship and appreciation has developed.

But I am still a little uneasy about this Forum thingy. You see my problem is the technology: I'm just not used to it. Added to this fact is my stature. You see, Haggis are not designd for sitting down at computer keyboards. we were designed and created for running and walking in a clockwise direction around the mountain and hill tops of the Scottish landscape.

Anyway, to help me in by need I'm allowing someone to hit the keys (in the right order I trust) while I converse.

As I venture forth then, into the realm of sharing my perspective and the worldview of the much maligned and perecuted Haggi, I trust that what follows assists and encourages you in your thinking and lifestyle.

I will come to an end now, but let me bring you one thought as I do. We live in a world where we seek after success - in love, relationship, work, sex, money. Some seek success spiritually also. This might be good, but the problem comes when we do not achieve success. In love we find new love. In work, when the promotion is not offered, we seek employment elsewhere. With money, we seek out the next get rich scheme. But what do we do about failure spiritually? Do we leave it and find a new one?

But perhaps we should not be seeking after success at all, but wonder. When I first took up the calling of being a Haggi, I asked God not for success, but wonder...and he has continually given it to me.

More soon
